Events

Here you’ll find up to date information about events being organised by us whether it’s demo days, out of hours social rides, races, event support or anything else you care to think of! As a community cycle store it’s really important for us to engage with our customers on a personal level and share the joy of riding bikes, we feel a great bike shop is more than just a place to buy things and should be as much about promoting the lifestyle and passion for sport.  We welcome anyone and everyone and hope you can join us on our next event!

Upcoming Events

You read that right, Bikeshak socials are back!  We’re kicking off with a fun social MTB ride at Macclesfield Forest, not a cross country death march and not a competition to see who can get to A&E the fastest. Just a fun circular round some quality Macclesfield trails.

Is this event for me?

Do you enjoy mountain biking and are capable of riding for a couple of hours? If so the answer is yes!! Everyone is welcome not matter their ability, we’ll be sticking together as a group to offer advice and guidance if needed and of course heckling where appropriate. The ride will be a steady social pace with some technical features which you can ride or not, that’s up to you, it’s all about the fun don’t forget!

What do I need?

We would recommend a good set of lights as early on in the year it can get dark in the woodland and a mountain bike that’s safe and fit to ride (we can help you with that too!). We do have some spare lights we can lend if you need them but only a couple so let us know in advance. Some water and food is recommended and basic tools to fix a puncture would also be useful just in case.

I’m in! – Where and when?

Macclesfield forest is the venue and the rides will start at 7pm – we will be meeting in the lay by next to Ridgegate Reservoir  which is right at the fork next to the Leathers Smithy pub (SK11 0NE). There is ample parking which is free of charge, we’ll be starting and ending the ride from this point too. Distance is 6 miles with some decent elevation but we’ll be riding at a social pace stopping off along the route at certain points to check out some of the tastier trails Macc forest has to offer. We reckon about 2 hours ride time in total. If you want to download a GPX file for use with GPS devices you can do so from GPSIES by clicking the link below:

I’m in! – What do I need?

If you would like to come along and ride some bikes make sure you bring some suitable riding gear, at the very least a helmet is a must, we can’t let you ride without one. If you use clip-less shoes please bring those too and the pedals needed for the system you use. Start times are subject to change and the routes have yet to be finalised so check back here for up to date info or follow us on our social media pages for regular updates.
