Here you’ll find up to date information about events being organised by us whether it’s demo days, out of hours social rides, races, event support or anything else you care to think of! As a community cycle store it’s really important for us to engage with our customers on a personal level and share the joy of riding bikes, we feel a great bike shop is more than just a place to buy things and should be as much about promoting the lifestyle and passion for sport. We welcome anyone and everyone and hope you can join us on our next event!
Bikeshak Shop Ride – Rivington Pike
We’ll be heading out on another Bikeshak Shop Ride on Friday the 12 of July to Rivington Pike to tackle some hopefully dusty technical descents. Rivington packs an awful lot into such a small area with an abundance of technical trails making it the ideal spot to perfect skills and test your mettle on natural terrain. As always anyone of any ability is welcome, this is a social ride at a social pace lasting about an hour to an hour and half.
Is this event for me?
Do you enjoy mountain biking and are capable of riding for a couple of hours? If so the answer is yes!! Everyone is welcome no matter their ability, we’ll be sticking together as a group to offer advice and guidance if needed and of course heckling where appropriate. The ride will be a steady social pace with some technical features which you can ride or not, that’s up to you, it’s all about the fun don’t forget!
What do I need?
This ride is specifically suited to a mountain bike, one designed for off road riding on challenging terrain. A helmet is a must and any other gear is entirely up to you. There should be enough light for the entire ride but bring a light just in case, we will have spares if you don’t have one. Some water and food is recommended and basic tools to fix a puncture would also be useful just in case.
I’m in! – Where and when?
Rivington is the venue and the ride will start at 7pm – there is ample free parking using the Rivington Hall Car park just off Rivington Lane just along from the Great House Barn cafe. Use the postcode BL6 7SB, if you’re coming across the Rivington reservoir over the bridge on Horrobin Lane follow the road until you see a white sign on the left directing you to the hall, parking is just up the road on the left.
