Here you’ll find up to date information about events being organised by us whether it’s demo days, out of hours social rides, races, event support or anything else you care to think of! As a community cycle store it’s really important for us to engage with our customers on a personal level and share the joy of riding bikes, we feel a great bike shop is more than just a place to buy things and should be as much about promoting the lifestyle and passion for sport. We welcome anyone and everyone and hope you can join us on our next event!
Wednesday Night Cross
Change of plan folks. We are going to hold the training sessions and Oldfield Brow Recreation ground instead of John Leigh Park as we’re less likely to cause obstructions to dog walkers, runners etc.
Ahhh Cyclocross. Mud, bobble hats, beer and some of the best racing you can get for £15 quid a go. We think it’s ace and you should too. With a huge spectrum of riders and races scattered all over the north west with a real ‘have a go’ atmosphere it’s a sport that everyone should try.
Wednesday Night Cross Training at
Oldfield Brow Recreation Ground
A friendly all inclusive training session to work on skills, fitness and cyclocross specific technique. We aim to practice race scenarios working on high intensity fitness and specific skills such as off camber corners, dismounting and maintaining momentum.
Training will start at 6:30 and run for about one hour – you are more than welcome to leave with us from the shop and leave any gear / cars there for collection afterwards. kids are more than welcome.
You will need:
Lights to get too and from the park safely (we likely won’t be using these during the session)
An off-road capable bike – we strongly recommend tyres with a good tread as the grass will be slippy in places. Mountain bikes can be used if you prefer although a proper Cyclocross bike with decent tyres is the best option.
This will be a new venture for us so keep posted on social media to check for any updates.
Tour of Britain – Altrincham Depart – Sept 14th
September 14th sees the Tour of Britain depart from Altrincham for the final stage in the series. To celebrate this rare occasion of the tour visiting our town we will be hosting a ‘Local Bike Shop’ style day of music, workshop classes and general good vibes to get you in the cheering spirit.
Two wheels are better than four
Just for the day we will have an additional 30 cycle parking spaces outside the store! We will be happy to look after anyone’s bike at the store if they wish to cycle into town to watch the depart all you need is a lock. It will be crazy busy so it’s a chance to leave the gas box at home and travel in with friends and family via two wheels.
Free bike checks!
Throughout the day we’ll be doing free bike checks adjusting gears and brakes galore. Get your bike checked absolutely free whilst sampling the delights of Altrincham’s independent businesses.
Workshop Classes (TBC)
We plan to run one or two workshop classes on the day on some popular maintenance subjects so if you’re wondering what to do after the circus has rolled out pop down for some useful bike maintenance skills. Times and content will be announced closer to the date.
Records and Cake! – Any excuse.
