The Classic 'UK Proof' Bike!

For 2012, our favourite Titanium specialists, Sabbath have revamped the Silk Road.  The Silk Road first burst onto the scene in 2006 wining praise across the board as a bike with exceptional handling & a sublime ride quality.  Its subtle class, durability and lifetime warranty meant it was ideally suited to many riders from club racers to sportive riders.  The same qualities are still at the heart of the Silk Road, only now it has been tweeked to be even more ‘UK Proof.’ 

Firstly, on the inside the tubeset has been upgraded to double butted 3al 2.5v Titanium to further refine the ride quality and reduce frame weight.  The down tube has been manipulated to be bi-axial creating larger and stiffer weld sites at the head tube & bottom bracket junctions.

The standard frame comes in a 'Bright Brushed' finished with sand blasted graphics, or for a small upcharge (£100) you can opt for the super-shiney polished graphics as shown above.

There is more development towards the back of the frame with ovalised seat stays creating more lateral stiffness while the concave curve keeps the bike nice and compliant.

Finally Sabbath have included discrete mudguard eyelets on the inside faces of the stays.  So when the weather’s bad you can fit secure stable guards, but when the sun’s out and the guards are off nothing interferes with the clean lines of the bike. 

The frame has been designed with maximum clearance so that you can run up to a 25c tyre, with mudguard & still use a short drop caliper.
